2011 FRC Build Season Well Underway

The 2011 FIRST Robotics Competition season kicked of on January 8th. Most of the team attended the regional kickoff at Northeastern University, then we immediately got to work brainstorming and then designing the robot.

This year the game includes bonus points for deploying a pole-climbing Minibot at the end of the match. The award-winning Middle School Team agreed to design and build the Minibot.

The robot has to be crated for shipment on February 22nd, so we are almost halfway through the build season! Even with all the snow days we are in much better shape than last year. All of the component designs are almost complete and assembly has begun on all of them. We should be able to drive the robot chassis in a few days which is two weeks sooner than last year.

We've all been too busy working to take pictures, but a few have been added to the 2011 Build Season photo album.

Video of Final Tests

Robot construction was complete on February 23rd and the robot was shipped to the competition. Here is video of robot testing on the last day of the build season. The competition begins March 26th. (Robot unpacking, inspection and warm-ups March 25th)

2010 FRC Build Season Underway

The 2010 FIRST Robotics Competition build season kicked off on January 9th. The team effort is well underway to design and prototype the robot for this year's game. You can find photos of the build season here, and a video of highlights of the first two weeks here.
